Fear the Government that Fears Your Gun: Pianosa’s man from New York

On December 14th 2012 the second deadliest school shooting in US history took place at Sandy Hook Elementary, Connecticut. The shooting has prompted a renewed and on-going debate about gun control and has increased the levels of fear and paranoia that exist in the US.

I wanted to know more about the reaction to the shooting so spoke to my friend Evan. I met Evan in Argentina whilst backpacking in early 2012. Evan lives in Kinderhook, New York, just south of Albany and only 115km away from where the Sandy Hook school shooting took place. He currently works as a security officer but hopes to soon teach English as a foreign language in Mexico City. He often listens to NPR (National Public Radio) whilst driving and finds its coverage of world news to be straight and to the point. Some people find NPR a little boring as they want a more opinionated newscast with more emotion from the radio hosts. He also follows reddit.com and from time to time democracynow.org.
